Today I installed a Super Skid transmission skid plate, and a pair of Boulder Bars from All J Products on our Jeep Liberty. The Super Skid protects the transmission from damage when we go four wheeling and go over some rocks. The Boulder Bars are bars that mount beneath the rocker panels on the car and protect them from damage when four-wheeling.

Notch1
When you install the super skid, the first thing you have to do is remove the existing engine skid and transfer case skid plate. Then you have to notch out the corner of the engine skid like this. Here you can see my notched skid above the picture of what it is supposed to look like.

Notch2
My transfer case skid plate had to have a notch cut out of it too. After I notched the skid plates I sanded the rust off and painted them so they would look nice.

All Skids
Here is a shot of all the skid plates laid out how they are installed on the vehicle. From right to left it is Mopar Engine Skid, All J Products Super Skid, and finally Mopar Transfer Case Skid.

Kirk Under Car
Here I am under the car installing the skids. If it is a one man job like it was for me, use jack stands to hold up the skids while you bolt them in place.

Here are all the skids installed. The view is from the front of the vehicle.

Template
The boulder bar installation was much less strenuous. Here I have the template bolted and clamped to the pinch weld. You use this template to drill holes in the pinch weld for the bolts. Then you mount the boulder bars to that and finally drill the holes in the frame for the frame bolts and install them. Installation was very easy.

Here is the installed Boulder Bars. Now all I have to get is my gas tank skid plate and the undercarriage will be completely protected.
