Today I flew my zagi with my friend Steve. He is in town this week, and he brought along his brushless motor and controller that you see at the right. This is from a motor kit from GoBrushless.com. It is basically a rewound CD-ROM motor. It requires a brushless controller like the Phoenix 10 that he is using. It took us a while to mount the motor in my zagi, since we didn’t use glue, but after that was installed we flew it and it did pretty well. The motor wasn’t tuned for this heavy of a plane, but it was able to fly around and do rolls and such. As I was bringing her in for a landing I nosed it in a bit too much and the battery/speed controller combo ejected busting the connection to the receiver. Oops! It is a simple broken connector that Steve will fix this afternoon. It was time to go back to work again anyway. We had a good time. We will fly it again tomorrow at lunch.
