I worked on the Morrell House Project again today. I have not been working on this project since back in November. This is a project that my church has taken on as a gift to the city. We are providing the labor and expertise to restore this craftsman style house for the City of Redondo Beach. Today was a little sprinkly with rain, so we mostly worked indoors.
The first thing I did was install a 2×4 on a wall that will help hold the ceiling on when they get to that. Later I helped Bill and John in the Attic. There we added 2×4’s to the sides of several rafters. We were doing this to strengthen the roof, so it can hold the Heating/Air conditioning units that will be installed up there. After that I helped put up Tyvek over the windows on the outside of the house since lots of them don’t have glass in them and it has been raining here lately.
There were several other people there as well. Many people used heat guns and sanders to take off the paint from the molding. Others worked on installing the rear door.
All in all it was a good day at the Morrell House.
