Today Donna and I and our friend Kevin went to the Billy Graham Crusade that is in LA right now. Tonight was a “Concert for Our Generation”. They had Kutless, The Tait Band, and Third Day. It was great! We went to the concert early since we had heard the lines were long, and they were. While we were waiting in line we had a nice picnic lunch that Donna had prepared. Salad, Koolaid, PotStickers and Cake! Yummy! They let us in at 4:00 PM.
Donna in the wheelchair |
Donna’s ankle is broken, so we parked in the handicapped area and went in the handicap entrance and got to sit right down on the grass.
This is the three of us, Donna, Kirk, and Kevin |
They were really good seats!
Here they are setting up the stage |
While we were waiting, we watched them set up the stage and do the final sound checks. It got pretty cold, so I went back out to the car and got the blanket. I also got us some hot coffees.
They had Rock music |
and Worship music |
The concert started at 6:00 and it was great! In between each band they had video vignettes on the screens with teenagers telling how Christ has changed their lives. Also the crowd got into doing the “Wave”.
Here is a Quicktime Panorama of the view from my seat during the concert. Click and drag in it to move around.
Billy Graham preaching. |
After the concert, Billy Graham gave a great sermon. Very simple, but it really spoke to you. He presents the Gospel quite simply and very effectively.
Altar Call |
After his sermon, Dr Graham called forward all the people that wanted to make give their lives to Jesus. He called them forward to do it publicly because that is how Jesus did it.
Lots of people responded! Praise God! |
We think by the end of the night, there were nearly 95,000 people in the Rose Bowl! It was a great night!
